Fur Care & Storage

Proper fur care and storage are crucial for extending the life of your garments. This advice is especially important if you’ve invested in an expensive purchase.

When you buy a brand-new fur hat, it may shed for a while. This is especially true for bespoke or custom-made hats. It’s a normal process that removes loose strands left over from production. Shaking the hat can speed up this process.

Hats made of real fur should only be cleaned with extra soft brushes. Any remaining moisture should be dried naturally outside or in a well-ventilated room, away from heat sources.

After the cold season, when you’re ready to store your winter gear, apply dry, odorless insecticide to the storage space first. This applies to coats, jackets, vests, and any other fur items. You can also use canvas bags for extra protection from moths. Store hats on shelves and clothing on high-quality wooden hangers of the right size. Make sure there’s enough space so your clothing and accessories stay in good shape for as long as possible.

During long storage periods, it’s a good idea to air out items made of genuine fur occasionally. In summer, use shade to avoid direct sunlight. Fur care is simple and doesn’t require much effort. Just make sure you don’t skip the routine.
